Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 873!

Welcome to Pack 873-Glen Burnie, Maryland!

Who We Are

Cub Scout Pack 873 has been meeting in Glen Burnie, Maryland for over 50 years!  We are a family-oriented pack that meets once a week.  We belong to the Four River's District in the Baltimore Area Council.  We are proudly sponsored by the Ferndale United Methodist Church.

What We Do

Pack 873 embraces the Cub Scout motto and promise "to do my best", "to do my duty", and "to help other people". We believe in helping our scouts to do their best in all aspects of life.  We provide a place for your son to belong and feel special; develop new social and mental skills; cultivate a system of values that will help him make good decisions through-out his life time; promote a concern and caring for other people along with opportunities to help others; and an environment that will heighten his self-confidence and self-esteem. We believe that scouting is an extension of the family and we encourage active participation by the whole family.  Cub Scout pack 873 provides all of this and more.... all while having FUN!

Uniform and Handbook

Pack 873’s Uniform Requirements

Scouts should wear their official uniform to all den and pack meetings, district events, and any cub scout activities, unless otherwise specified.

We ask that each scout purchase the following items....

 Tigers/Wolves/Bear

Official shirt (short or long sleeve) blue

o    Short sleeve is recommended-during winter months, most boys choose to wear their short sleeve shirt over a long sleeve undershirt

Official belt-blue (recognition belt loops are made to fit only on the official belt)

  Neckerchief-Den appropriate*

  Neckerchief Slide-Den appropriate*

Webelos

Official shirt (short or long sleeve) -blue or tan

  Official Belt-blue or green

  Webelos neckerchief and neckerchief slide*

You may want to purchase a shirt that is several sizes big for your scout.  It will be big on him now, but it will last him for several years!!

Scouts can wear the pants/shorts of their choice.  Most boys choose to wear blue khaki or jeans. Clean, no tears.

*Neckerchiefs and slides are optional, as are the official cub scout hats.  Most boys, however, choose to wear these items.

Your scout will need the handbook that is respective to his den.  Handbooks are used to track and recognize your son's accomplishments and achievements and are an important element in the scouting program. Your son should bring his handbook to all den meetings.
