Troop 15 has been chartered for the last 20+ years at St. Peter's Church.  Beginning in January 2018, Troop 15 will be chartered by Plymouth Church UCC on Coventry Road in Shaker Heights, Ohio.  Beginning on February 1st, the Troop will host a Scouts BSA Troop 15 for girls linked to the boy troop.

We have weekly meetings on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 in the Fellowship Hall in the church basement where we incorporate themes around merit badges, rank advancement, outdoor pursuits, and other scout-related activities. Our meetings typically include a Patrol challenge and conclude with a rousing game of dodgeball.

The Troop travels monthly for campouts, with the exception of July when we are at summer camp, August when we hold our annual planning summit, and December when we prepare for the Klondike challenge.

Here are a few things our Troop has done in the past few years:  hiking, building and launching model rockets, cycling, spelunking (cave exploration), Iron Chef competitions, building emergency shelters, backpacking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, skiing, visiting historic sites such as Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Fort Niagara, learning rifle and shotgun safety and shooting skills, and many other activities!

Every summer during the week of July 4th we spend a week at Boy Scout camp where our scouts can earn merit badges and engage in activities that are only available in summer camp.  Next summer (2019) we will return to Beaumont Scout Camp in Ashtabula County and we will add a second week of summer camping opportunity at Manatoc Scout Reservation in mid-June.

In 2018-2019, we will be practicing scout skills, backpacking, winter shelter building, participating in a Klondike winter skills challenge, skiing, shooting, Iron Chef competitions, outdoor games, ziplining, and more.  Several scouts are working on Cycling merit badge.  Some scouts will go hiking at Philmont High Adventure base in New Mexico in summer 2019.

We update this site often, so be sure to check back frequently!
